Chapter 6: Stay…

Collapse )
Derek pushes the front door open and with one hand securely against baby Nessa’s back and the other carrying a number of shopping bags. He knows the sling is perfectly safe and it is designed to keep a child safely tucked against a parent’s chest. But still, he can never get used to having his child just--hanging there.

Leaving the door open, he drops the grocery bags on the kitchen counter on his way through to the staircase, which he climbs slowly until reaching the third door to the left on the second floor and dropping a soft kiss atop the three month old’s head as he carries her inside.

He can’t get enough of that smell. He knows all babies have that scent and while he would never admit to Callie that she’s right and he does have a cent fetish, he’s definitely addicted to this one.

The baby stirs in his arms, and he’s careful to lift her out and place her gently in her crib, where she continues to sleep peacefully. He places a small blanket over her and smiles because she looks just like her mother. She’s lucky. She’s dark hair and full lips, but he takes pride in the fact that she most definitely has his nose and his coloring.

He hears shuffling outside, and he already knows who it is. He hears her call his name quietly before stepping inside behind him. He looks over his shoulder and smiles broadly at Callie, and the third love of his life, sleeping in her arms.

“Hi, wife.” He says in a way that just never gets old to Callie, and she smiles meekly. Lately, simple tasks like grocery shopping have become a mission with three month old identical twin baby girls.

“Hi, husband.” She replies. They’ve decided to keep the pet names behind closed doors because Mark has made it his mission in life to torture them about it.

She waits for Derek to carefully lift his daughter from her arms to place her in the corresponding crib. She’s tired. Exhausted, but sometimes, she gets caught up in the way her life has turned out and she just has to take a moment to remind herself that it’s real. After Derek takes the usual ten minutes to make sure his girls are fine, he leads Callie out into the hallway and  into their bedroom across the hall.

Like every night since the girls have been home, the door remains open, just in case.

“My dad’s flight arrives at noon tomorrow.” She says as she kicks off her shoes and strips of her jeans before catching a glimpse of herself in the full length mirror. She sees the way her belly kind of sticks out, even though she’s been working out like crazy since the girls were born and she frowns.

“You look beautiful.” He says as he throws both their clothes in the hamper. She looks over at him and smiles. He means it. This is the woman who’s given him everything he’s ever wanted, and the pregnancy has done nothing but accentuate everything he loves about her already. He’s reminded of exactly that whenever she walks around the house in her underwear. There isn’t a day he doesn’t find her ridiculously attractive. And not a day goes by where he doesn’t crave touching her.

She crawls into bed and giggles when only a few seconds later, he crawls in behind her and kisses her neck, tickling her skin with his stubble. She settles comfortably in his arms and bites her lip as he feels all to warm and way too comfortable and she remembers that the last time she had sex was--months ago, before she gave birth.

“I think we should have sex.”

He tries not to seem too perked up. He’s a grown, married, mature man after all. He is not about to give away that all he’s been thinking about for the past two months, is sex with his wife. Because he knows it’s up to her. There are--hormones and feelings and things that he can never understand because he will never give birth. So he never mentioned to Callie that he couldn’t sleep at night sometimes when she cuddled against him at night. Or that, he couldn’t think straight when she walked around the kitchen in his Clash tee-shirt, panties and nothing else--while she licked a spoon clean of ice cream. He was leaving it up to her. Because he doesn’t know that Callie has been doing everything in her power to get him to come on to her because she doesn’t know if he’s back to wanting to have sex with her yet.

“What. Like--soon?” He asks, forcing his voice to stay steady as he pulls her closer.

“Like tonight?” She says, her heart beating in her chest. Her nerves are killing her. “I mean, if you want to. We don’t have to--”

“No-no, I want to.” He says quickly, lifting his weight onto his elbow and looking down on her.

She turns her head and wait’s a second before turning to lie on her back, “Yeah?”

“YES. I mean, if you’re sure.”

“You don’t do coy well. But that’s okay, because I really don’t care. Kiss me.”

He smiles as he lowers his head and her hand goes up to cradle his cheek just as his lips land on hers. He kisses her softly, but softly can only last so long when all he’s been able to do lately is exactly that. He kisses her deeper groans when she sighs against him and shifts under him as his palm snakes under her shirt and slowly up her stomach and ribcage.

I chill runs up and down her spine when at the feel of his thumb at the swell of her breast and her back arches automatically  against the mattress as her nails rake softly across his bare chest and he shifts until he’s cradled between her legs and pressed tightly against her.

It’s like tasting his favorite dish after tears of not having even smelled it. Everything is sweeter, softer, and--oh, god, she smells so good, it’s clouding his senses and his hands are moving everywhere he can reach. Tracing every inch of her caramel toned skin and he can’t help but love the way she pants against his ear as he kneads her breasts and grinds down against her. And the way her leg curls up as he runs his hand over the length of it.

When she licks his neck and tugs at his earlobe before moaning at the ceiling, he knows this is not going to be warm and fuzzy. As if he can hear her thoughts, he lifts his weight off he r body, long enough for her to turn over on her stomach, limbs tangling as she holds her weight on her elbows.

He parts her legs and crawls between them from behind her before pushing her hair aside before attacking her neck with fervor.

She moans and drops her head forward with a  loud groan, that she tries to silence against her pillow when she remembers her offspring are sleeping down the hall.

The next few minutes are a blur of sighs and whispers, and a silent battle of who gets to be on top. A battle Derek is used to fighting constantly, mind you.

He finally pulls her onto his lap as he rids of his shirt and then hers, before using both hands to cup her ass pull her against his groin with a grunt that she answers with a groan.

She knows the pulsating between her legs that feels almost painful ahs a lot to do with the fact that she’s practically beena  nun the past few months, but still--she also knows the effect he has on her, and when she wraps her arms around his neck, her bare chest against his, she can’t help but put her all in the kiss she delivers, while her hips move against him at their own accord.

She feels a hand slip between them, followed by a soft snap. She pulls away slightly and looks at him quizzically, “You didn’t” She says in a ragged breath as he replies with a shrug. She looks down, and yep, her panties are torn.  It’s amazing , though, how she just does not feel like complaining about it.

Tow hours later, while Callie collapses face down on the mattress, breathless and sweaty, she can’t even open her eyes, or move her limbs. She doesn’t even bother to acknowledge Derek as he flops down beside her and leans over to kiss her bare back.

She lifts her head, slowly, and looks over her shoulder at him, panting, “You’re kidding, right?

“What?” He asks with that stupid/adorable grin of his.

“My legs--are numb. And I can’t move.” She laughs as after he tells her she doesn’t have to lift a finger, and continues to trial kisses over her spine.

They both freeze at the faintest sound of a cry down the hall. They look at each other and silently hope it’s not what they think it is. But the faint cry quickly becomes a pretty well heard wail signaling that one of the girls needs to be fed.

“It’s Nessa.” He announces, “I’ll get her.” He adds, kissing Callie one last time before hopping off the bed.

“Thank you.” She calls after him, letting her head fall back on the bed. After a few long breaths, and the reassuring sound of her daughter being cooed to sleep by her father, she drifts off to sleep.

Maybe, it’s a corny and lame ending, but damn, these two are so hard to write! Lol I hope you guys enjoyed it and, please leave comments. I love them all, good or bad.

Summa: She yelps and reaches back before punching him playfully on the arm and he lunges forward, grabbing her arm and biting it. They’re playing around. I know this. But I really, really, want to punch him.
